The Aberdeen Pheasant Coalition is unique in concept and collaboration. Spearheaded by the local Northern South Dakota Pheasants Forever Chapter 77 in Aberdeen, it brings together local businesses, the tourism industry, conservation organizations, and sportsmen groups to drive change.

What We Do

We provide funding for a signup incentive for farmers and landowners enrolling land into the USDA Farm Service Agency’s (FSA) Conservation Reserve Program (CRP) to provide quality nesting and brood rearing habitat while at the same time enrolling these same acres into the South Dakota Game, Fish, and Parks public access hunting program (Walk In Program). This program will provide a major boost to our local economy while also supporting a stable and increasing pheasant population, crucial to our local economy.

All of our members have a strong link to our Aberdeen pheasant heritage though not all are headquartered in Aberdeen. All funds raised for this signup incentive will be spent in Brown County, South Dakota only. Additional funds raised to promote this program will provide for promotion without touching the dollars raised for the signup incentive.
